Lebron James’ streetwear brand UNKNWN has thrown open the doors to its flagship store in Wynwood to coincide with Miami Art Week.

The 10,000 sq ft retail space was designed by artist John Margaritis’s creative studio New York Sunshine and includes a full-scale basketball court with navy and blue surface. Palm trees flank the court on one side, with the building’s brightly painted enclosing the court on the other.

Rolling automatic door lift to reveal the store’s white-walled interiors, where sneakers and accessories are displayed in long glass cases.

Several artworks by New York Sunshine dot the retail store, including an upside-down copper sculpture of a basketball hoop. It is suspended from the ceiling at the centre of the store, with the hoop’s chain net welded upright – seemingly defying gravity. A pool of water below the artwork reflects it the right way up.

Murals, a photo studio and community courtyard round off Wynwood outpost’s offerings.
