White-painted weatherboarding wraps the six-bedroom main house, where more than 3,000 square feet of space is spread across two floors. Downstairs, the kitchen, breakfast room, dining area and living room are connected beneath exposed beams and pitched ceilings. Rooflights and sash windows bring daylight into the predominantly white interiors, with smoked oak floors running underfoot.
The grounds contain a collection of converted outbuildings. The largest was designed by an artist as a studio, using north-facing light and four-metre cathedral ceilings. French doors open from the studio toward the swimming pool and meadow. It also contains a kitchen with a vintage Aga and an en-suite bathroom.
A former pool house and workshop provide further studio space, and the self-contained Willow Cottage has its own bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, garden and veranda. Foster House is around 10 minutes by car from Rye and the beaches at Camber Sands. It is listed with Inigo for £2.1 million.
