Twelve hectares of woodland, meadows and gardens surround Château de Beaulieu in Abzac, southwestern France, around 15 minutes from the medieval wine village of Saint-Émilion. The 18th-century chartreuse-style château is formed from two wings beneath terracotta-tiled roofs. A renovation completed in 2025 retained exposed stone walls, timber floors, fireplaces and tall arched openings, and used natural lime paint across the interiors. The rooms include a library and wine cellar, and the château and guardian’s house contain 10 bedrooms and eight bathrooms in total.

Outside, a stone fountain sits within the gardens. Seven hectares of the estate are wooded, with a pond beyond the house. Open meadows, 26 fruit trees and a 1,500sqm permaculture garden occupy other parts of the grounds. The estate also has a heated infinity pool, private spa, fitness room and Nordic bath. Its water is supplied by a well and borehole, with wood-pellet heating and timber from the estate used for fireplaces and cooking.
Château de Beaulieu is around 45 minutes from Bordeaux and is listed for €3.8 million.
