Smugglers Cottage was built in the late 17th century as a coal store and fisherman’s retreat on the banks of the River Dart in Devon. The Grade II-listed house in the village of Dittisham extends to more than 2,000 square feet across two floors. Hand-hewn oak beams, exposed stone walls, flagstone floors and inglenook fireplaces remain throughout, reflecting the building’s earlier life.
