A former waterfront storehouse forms the lower level of this timber house on Gullholmen, a small island community off Sweden’s west coast. Believed to date from around 1911, Östersidan 255 retains timber floors, traditional joinery, panelled walls and period doors. Windows on the upper floors look across the harbour and neighbouring islands. The property is is listed with Skeppsholmen Sotheby’s International Realty for SEK 28 million.

At water level, the former storehouse has been converted into a sea house containing a kitchen, sauna, WC and bedroom. Double doors open directly onto the jetty, where there is space for up to four boats. The main house contains further bedrooms and living spaces across its upper floors. Its total area is 180 square metres, including the sea house.
Behind the building is a small garden planted with traditional perennials. The plot measures just 69 square metres, reflecting the close arrangement of houses along Gullholmen’s rocky shoreline. The island is car-free, with paths running between its timber houses and a footbridge connecting it to neighbouring Härmanö.
