Paris’ famous Duperré basketball court gets a psychedelic makeover

Paris’ Duperré basketball court – of Instagram fame – has been given a colourful makeover by Ill-Studio and fashion brand Pigalle, with support from Nike.

The basketball court sits between two apartment blocks on Rue Duperré in the city’s 9th arrondissement. It’s become a cult spot for social media-minded tourists since it was first painted by Nike and Pigalle founder Stéphane Ashpool back in 2009.

Since then, French design practice Ill-Studio has refreshed it several times for the brands, and its latest psychedelic iteration – unveiled on Instagram this weekend – blends dusky purples with fuchsia, royal blue, orange and yellow.
