Kanye West and director Steve McQueen have been running riot at the Historic Dockyard Chatham in Kent, judging by clips of their collaborative video, ‘All Day / I Feel Like That’.

The pair have kept much of the short film – shot last March inside the former dockyard’s Grade II*-listed Tarred Yarn Store – shrouded in mystery, and are only showing it to visitors of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) for four days, until 28 July.

But snippets of the video reveal Kanye, captured by McQueen in a single take, roaming around the raw, wood-clad warehouse as he sings two of his latest songs.

Tarred Yarn Store was originally three separate buildings, completed in 1791 as a rope-making base for the dockyard – once the centre of British shipbuilding. Now, the warehouse is a popular film location and has been the setting for scenes in Les Misérables and Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes.

A version of ‘All Day / I Feel Like That’ was previously shown in May at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris. We look forward to seeing the video’s full release one day…
