Live out your Middle Earth fantasies at this Queensland property, which comes with its very own Hobbit House.

The three-bedroom Conondale property has a guide price of $690,000 with Re/Max Hinterland and is built within the 600-acre Crystal Waters Eco community. Its main timber-frame house has brightly coloured interiors and is wrapped in an orange verandah. A studio with a kitchenette and porch is located on the lower level of the house.

But the more intriguing part of the compound is the Hobbit House, which comprises three separate ‘huts’ ringed by a low wall. The dwellings are designed to resemble the Hobbit Houses found in J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings and Hobbit Trilogy and can be used as an office, artist’s studio, guest room, or playhouse.

Just 856 people live in Conondale, a rural village in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast region. The quirky eco-home last sold for $380,000 in 2018 and is outfitted with a solar array ‘that feeds power back to the grid’ with solar-powered hot water tanks and established gardens.

One thing to note: while Tolkien’s Hobbits loved their pets, Clear Water doesn’t allow cats or dogs to protect local biodiversity.
