Coffee comes with a view at Boonma Cafe, which is cocooned by private forest in Thailand’s Chiang Mai.

Although trees surround it, the coffee shop is easy to find thanks to the enormous plastic curtains that encircle it to create a gentle but tangible boundary between the woods and the building.

Inside the curtained entrance, guests can perch on wooden benches and enjoy a private, walled-off section of the forest, before heading into the main coffee shop.

Inside, local design studio Sher Maker have kept to an industrial atmosphere, with steel girders left bare, and contrasted by white tiles and metal seating. A front terrace offers extra space to soak up the forest atmosphere.
