// Beijing Daxing International Airport // I wouldn't have thought that a new mega airport that is said to be all about efficiency would make me want to stay for more than four hours. But it's a Zaha Hadid after all and I just had to explore and photograph every nook and cranny. So, while it's true that the largest terminal building in the world is designed in a very convenient way for passengers and operations, it's also incredibly beautiful. Following principles of traditional Chinese architecture, it is organised around a central courtyard with five aircraft piers radiating directly out, so that it looks like a starfish from above. Inside, you can find a series of flowing forms that support the roof and act as skylights. So, if you go through this new airport on a future trip, you might want to bring some more time than the eight minutes needed from the central area to the farthest boarding gate, in order to fully appreciate it. ? invite | Yesterday morning’s moment of zen as I was preparing a bath during a stay @university_arms and the whole room was illuminated by the just risen sun. • It’s always nice to be back in Cambridge but this time especially so as @elensham, @jessonthames, and I were there for two days to #discovercambridge via its food scene, culture, and history with @university_arms.
