Buenos Aires-born architect Julio Kaufman designed the Pyramid House around 1960, organising the structure beneath a steep pyramidal roof. Set on the eastern edge of Fire Island Pines on Fire Island, New York, it featured on The Spaces when it was last on the market, in 2022. It’s currently listed for $3.3 million with Esteban Gomez of Compass.

Upstairs, a single living, dining and kitchen space occupies the main volume. One elevation is formed by a floor-to-ceiling steel-and-glass wall, looking across the dunes of Fire Island National Seashore towards the Atlantic and the bay.

The primary suite is on the lower level, along with dressing areas, a bathroom and study. Across the courtyard are three smaller pyramidal structures. Two contain guest bedrooms and the central volume houses a bathroom. A saltwater swimming pool occupies the space between them.

Galvanised structural steel forms part of the construction, and the house spans approximately 2,100 square feet. It has three bedrooms in all, and two-and-a-half bathrooms.
