What is the saying – small but perfectly formed? This Aussie tiny home put that to the test in Victoria’s rolling mountain terrain.

The Victoria holiday home sits at the foothills of Mount Buller, near the town of Mansfield. It’s made from a pair of converted shipping containers that are connected by a timber deck, with the bedroom and open-plan bathroom located in one, and the kitchen/living room in the other.

Interiors are ‘rustic minimalist’ in style, with simple plywood walls and built-ins creating a cohesive aesthetic that doesn’t distract from the dramatic views beyond its hydraulic windows.

While off-grid, the cabin does have power from a 12-volt battery as well as running water (hot and cold). There’s both indoor and outdoor cast iron fireplaces to keep guests warm, and after a day of adventuring the centre of Mansfield is a short five-minute drive away.

The shipping container home is available to book via Airbnb from $264.29 AUD per night.
