Atelier Branco Arquitetura designed this all-white house in Brazil’s São Miguel do Gostoso. 5 bedrooms; rent monthly from €14,000 or for shorter stays on request via Fincas Llúria
Architect Josep Lluís Sert designed this Ibizian hilltop complex in the late 1960s and its interiors are time-capsule midcentury Spanish modernism. Casa F Sert has been refurbished to honour its original design, incorporating a swimming pool a tower into its sloping plot. A large outdoor terrace looks out to sea and much of the furniture Sert created for the island home is still in place. Take a look around the modernist property.

Off-grid retreat Casa Miami sits on edge of California’s Joshua Tree National Park. The whitewashed Pioneertown home was renovated by duo Carlos Naude and Whitney Brown as a holiday home and showroom for their creative practice Working Holiday Studio. The A. Quincy Jones House & Studio in California, US

2 bedrooms; $20,000 per month via The Agency
Architects A. Quincy Jones and Ruth Schneider’s modernist duplex home in Los Angeles’ Lauren Canyon was built in 1938 by the newlywed couple to tread lightly on its scrub-covered hillside plot. Half of the complex was used as the couple’s home, while the other would become Jones’s first architecture studio. Spring Place renovated both units, polishing their original midcentury features including box-beamed ceilings, exposed steel beams, full-height brick fireplaces and period cabinetry and wood panelling.
