Form meets function inside this dinky cabin by Drop Structures – yours for $21,450.

Mono is the brainchild of the Alberta-based Canadian company and clocks in at 106 sq ft, meaning it doesn’t require planning permission.

Its long, linear layout, vaulted ceiling and glass frontage maximise its square footage, while the latter ensures plenty of natural light. The basic model – which can be delivered across the US and Canada – can be customised with the addition of lofts, desks or beds, as well as mod cons like air conditioning, built-in blinds, solar panels and a wood-burning stove.

The cabin’s main structure is built with Douglas Fir and is fully insulated, so the prefab dwelling can be used year-round. And because Mono has a steel base, no foundations are required.

Mono is a ‘plug and play’ prefab cabin costing just $21k
