This 4,100 sq ft New York loft has been given a minimalist makeover by its interior designer owner Betsy Morgan.

According to the listing, award-winning architecture firm Messana O’Rorke was enlisted to renovate the Soho home, which was previously the live/work gallery space of dealer Charles Cowles. It is now configured as a spacious four-bedroom apartment, and Morgan has painted its walls, 12-ft ceilings and pine wood floors white.

Historic 19th-century support beams have been retained in the living room, which runs the length of the apartment and features seven extra-tall windows. The kitchen is divided from the living room by a partition and is fitted with a custom 19-ft brass island which adds a bolt of colour into the otherwise spartan loft.

Elsewhere, three small study areas separate the living room from the bedrooms, which fill the other side of the Manhattan property. It’s on the market via Deborah Ribner and Jason of Warburg Realty for $11.5m.
