Trees, plants and living walls take centre stage in new London hotspot Restaurant Ours, which opened this week.

The brasserie space on Brompton Road is the brainchild of Tom Sellers – the chef behind Restaurant Story in London Bridge. It’s set in a former warehouse, revamped by Foster + Partners back in the 1980s when the site became a shop for fashion designer Katharine Hamnett.

Says Sellers: ‘We want this to be one of the hottest places in London – with people relaxing and enjoying themselves… good food, good drink, a beautiful space.’

Restaurant Story retains many of the features added by Foster, including a 30-metre glass ‘catwalk’ that leads to the triple-height dining space.

Elsewhere, a mezzanine level forms a lounge area and the bar takes up the heart of the 120-cover restaurant. In the open kitchen at the back, head chef Daniel Phippard will cook up a selection of European and British dishes.
