Orlando architect Duane Stark built this eponymous residence next to the Little Econlockhatchee River as his own homage to Frank Lloyd Wright.

The Florida property is just 13 miles northeast of downtown Orlando but feels remote thanks to its lush, tropical setting on a four-acre plot on the riverbank. The three-bedroom house borrows some of Lloyd Wright’s techniques for connecting to its surroundings, with glass walls and sliding doors connecting the double-height living room to the garden and deck area.

A spiral staircase joins the first level to the master bedroom, with its own fireplace and private deck area connected by an elevated walkway.

Concrete, white walls and wooden fixtures add to the 1973 home’s organic, peaceful vibe. It also has several outdoor decks, terraces and an outdoor swimming pool – and the river is a stone’s throw away for fishing enthusiasts.

Miranda Cady of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty has the listing for 5743 Rocking Horse Road, which is asking for $865,000.
