Greek artist Alekos Fassianos will open the doors to his atelier Papagos House for the first time as part of the inaugural Athens Design Forum.

Fassianos is best known for his evocative figurative paintings, which have become an emblem for post-war Greek society. Papagos House in Athens acts as his studio and private home. This space reflects the intersection of his multi-faceted practice, filled with sculptural lamps, furnishings, ceramics, textiles and his bold and enigmatic paintings.

The ticketed event on 3 October 2021 is the only public opening of the house, and guests will have the opportunity to see the objects that ‘animate’ the property up close on their tour of the space, followed by a Q&A with Viktoria Fassianou.

The Athens Design Forum is the brainchild of Greek-American writer and curator Katerina Papanikolopoulos and brings together the city’s cultural venues with its creative inhabitants to showcase the power and reach of Greek design. RSVP to the tour, and read more about the programme on ADF’s website.
