Despite being located in Singapore’s busy Chinatown neighbourhood, The Bravery offers a moment of restful quiet thanks to its calming wood and pastel interiors.

Coffees are ordered over the bakery’s tubular-shaped counter, which is raised off the ground by an illuminated plinth that creates the sense that it’s floating. An abundance of light fills the space thanks to the wall lamps that dot the space and a hanging light fixture that resembles a cluster of reflective butterflies.

Local studio DRAWN designed the restaurant’s interiors, mixing materials and styles while maintaining a restrained approach. Wicker chairs pull up to marble-topped cafe tables, while upstairs, the building’s original timber rafters and floorboards are contrasted by green leather banquettes.

As well as its bakery and coffee options, The Bravery serves a dinner menu of wagyu, burgers and ribs.
