A Richard Neutra home in Los Angeles has hit the market for the first time ever – and its a time capsule of modernist design.

The Elsa and Robert Sale Residence sits on North Tigertail Road in Brentwood, and was built in 1960. The three-bedroom midcentury modern home features Neutra’s signature sliding glass walls and has bespoke flourishes including original mosaics by Elsa Sale (a Dutch-born artist) as well as built-in seating, bookcases and cabinetry.

The bolthole is listed via Christina Hildebrand of Crosby Doe for $3m and while ‘some restoration [is] required’, the 1,632 sq ft modernist property retains its original open-plan layout and wood panelling. It’s also surrounded by greenbelt land and hiking trails.
