Diving boards were a playful stand-in for the traditional catwalk at Rejina Pyo’s ready-to-wear SS22 presentation, which saw the South Korean fashion designer commandeered the London Aquatics Centre – and featured notable cameos from Team GB divers.

Olympians Emily Martin, Josie Zilling, and Robyn Birch opened in the show at the colossal, futuristic swimming centre – initially designed by Zaha Hadid for the 2012 London Olympics.

Pyo was scouting the venue during a Team GB pre-Olympics training session when she asked them to participate, telling Vogue:We were mesmerised by them and they were eager to be a part of the show, so it happened very organically.’

Models in colourful swimwear, sheer shirts and ruched spaghetti-strap bodycon dresses walked across the pool tiles flanking the 50-metre-long swimming pool in a simple but effective runway presentation that drew a connection between season and setting. They skirted past the audience to take their spot on the staggered concrete diving boards, with colours popping against the vast and austere panels of the swimming hall’s walls.
