Hidden within a wooded valley above Cala en Porter on the island of Menorca, Casa Torrent occupies more than 33,000 square metres of land where a year-round stream flows through olive trees before reaching the Mediterranean coast.

Built in 1870, the two-bedroom farmhouse was recently restored yet retains all the character of its agricultural origins. Limewashed walls, exposed timber beams and limestone floors remain, alongside a layout that reflects how the building evolved over time. The bathroom still sits separately from the main house, while a generous room upstairs combines living and sleeping space around a fireplace, with windows opening onto the landscape from almost every direction.

Rather than relying on public utilities, the 110sqm house operates entirely off-grid. Solar panels, battery storage and an independent water supply provide complete autonomy — not as a later addition, but as a system integrated into the way the property functions.

Outside, the landscape is as much a part of the experience as the house itself. A private track leads 1.5km to Cala en Porter’s beach, while mature vegetation, a permanent stream and open valley views reinforce the sense of seclusion that defines this corner of Menorca.

Casa Torrent is listed for €1.135 million with Fantastic Frank Menorca.
