An all-female design team has brought a new version of Madame de Pompadour’s 18th-century mansion Le Petit Trianon to life, designing a digital chateau for The Eye of the Huntress’s inaugural exhibition.
The virtual home is based on a 1904 San Francisco mansion, which was, in turn, inspired by Petit Trianon – a neoclassical home designed by Ange-Jacques Gabriel for Louis XV’s long-term mistress, and later given to Marie Antoinette.
It’s been created as a digital home for an exhibition of work by artists including Kate MccGwire, Conrad Shawcross and Katy Grannan. The show is the first of a series of quarterly online exhibitions hosted by The Eye of the Huntress, a gallery set up by Alexandra Ray and Catherine Loewe.

The pair promise to host hand-picked works in immersive digital locations based on real-world architectural spaces to help users imagine the pieces in their own homes. Le Petit Trianon is available to tour until 20th January 2021, with all the artworks on display and available to buy with a click.
