A house designed by Jørn Utzon, the Danish architect behind the Sydney Opera House, has come to market in Hellebæk, Denmark, where it stands in a clearing surrounded by forest. Built in 1951 as Utzon’s own home and workplace, it is now protected as a work of Danish modernism.

Floor-to-ceiling glazing opens the interiors towards the surrounding woodland. Terraces extend around the building, receiving sunlight at different times of day. The house sits within a 12,604sqm plot, with direct access to paths through the forest. Its position in the clearing places the trees close to the main living spaces, where large windows frame views of the surrounding vegetation.
