Luxury travel trailer company Bowlus has unveiled its latest offering, which promises to be its most affordable and lightest RV to date.

The Rivet is priced at $148,500 and boasts the same rugged aluminium silhouette as Bowlus’ other offerings but on a compact and lightweight scale. A ‘flyweight’ caravan with a 3,500 lbs GVWR, it can be towed by most vehicles, including EVs like the Tesla Y. The trailer’s 25’ 3” floorplan includes a roomy kitchen and living room and a separate king-sized bedroom with an ensuite, with blonde and grey finishes.

Technical specs include a yacht-quality 8 kWh lithium battery and up to 660 W of solar power generation, which Bowlus says allows ‘indefinite off-grid time in all conditions’. It also has air conditioning and heating, a three-inch lift kit for additional off-road clearance, and all-terrain tyres for off-roading.

According to Bowlus, ‘The Rivet is the first production RV to be self-propelled, self-powered, and remote-controlled, enabling access virtually anywhere.’

For an extra $10,000, customers can add AeroMove™ – giving power and traction to manoeuvre the Rivet up steep slopes, do 360-degree turns, parallel park and navigate the trickiest of campsites.
