Enigmatic artist Banksy has painted a mural on the walls of a Bristol primary school as a thank you to pupils who named a house after him.

Kids, parents and teachers at Bridge Farm School returned from the half-term break to discover the surprise painting, which depicts a childlike figure pushing a burning tyre. The work also came with a note from the Bristol-born artist himself.

‘Please have a picture,’ it read. ‘If you don’t like it feel free to add stuff, I’m sure the teachers won’t mind. Remember – it’s always easier to get forgiveness than permission.’

Let’s see what the kids can bring to the table…
