Pop Up Home launches its permanent LA showroom – and it is a treasure trove of design gems

There are retro design finds galore coming to LA’s Melrose Hill, as vintage furniture retailer Pop Up Home opens a 3,000-sq-m flagship store in the neighbourhood.

It’s the latest and biggest location for the business, which previously enjoyed something of a nomadic existence – occupying various activations and pop-ups, as well as a vast warehouse, before finally settling down in its permanent home.

Pop Up Home will offer three floors of vintage furniture and artworks, adopting an eclectic approach spearheaded by founder Tricia Benitez Beanum, who buys and collects from various eras and styles.

Pieces are displayed against exposed brick and wooden floors, with plenty of natural light flooding in to emphasise the patina of Pop Up Home’s vintage pieces.

Objects are paid for at a counter designed by Jason Koharik, and made from interlocking, jigsaw puzzle-esque wood blocks. Furniture on offer ranges from statement armchairs and leather sofas to sculptural lamps and objects and smaller, quirky pieces that are a little lighter on the pocket.
