An early model Avion is fresh from a top-to-tail refurb in New Orleans, giving the aluminium trailer a whole new lease of life.
Dubbed Holiday, the caravan dates from 1960 and has been remodelled by vintage specialists Andy’s Trailers. Its polished, 24-ft-long aircraft-grade aluminium shell sits on a completely rebuilt frame and running gear, with new axles and an upgraded tongue hitch.
Inside, the original midcentury layout has been honoured with custom birch ply built-ins. There’s a double bedroom at one end of the midcentury trailer, plus a front dinette that folds into a second bed, accommodating four people in total.
Upgrades take the trailer off-grid, with foldable solar panels and freshwater storage on board. According to the listing, the 158 sqft trailer can also hook into propane and a furnace for cold-weather camping. The bathroom has a new shower, vanity and a Nature’s Head composting toilet.
The Avion Holiday trailer is currently located in New Orleans but is available for delivery. It’s asking for $85,000.
