Icicle’s minimalist Paris store reimagines the city’s Hausmann architecture

Architect Bernard Dubois reinterpreted the stone facades of Paris’s iconic Hausmann buildings for the stripped-back interiors of this store by Chinese fashion brand Icicle.

Located on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, the retail space is daubed in the same cream-coloured palette that distinguishes some of the capital’s most recognisable buildings. However, Dubois has done away with the extraneous detail, using only clean, curving lines and natural materials to immerse shop-goers.

A sculptural stone staircase connects the store’s three floors, visually blending into the polished limestone flooring. Brass and walnut accents offset the store’s monochrome appearance, with minimal clothes rails creating space for Icicle’s vegetable-dyed denim and organic cotton pieces – all part of the label’s ethical, natural philosophy.
