This maximalist apartment in London’s Carlyle Mansions is rich with history. Overlooking the River Thames on Chelsea’s Cheyne Walk, the 1880s red-brick building is known as ‘The Writer’s Block’ – it was once home to authors Henry James, T. S. Eliot and Ian Fleming. It’s officially named after historian, mathematician and sage Thomas Carlyle.
