K-House opens up to beach views in Sri Lanka’s Southern Province

This Sri Lankan holiday home near Hiriketiya Beach frames the sea views from its granite terraces.

Norm Architects and AIM Architecture designed K-House in Kottegoda to blend into its surroundings, using open spaces that emphasise the surrounding landscape.

Natural materials including local teak and recycled terracotta run throughout the six-bedroom villa, which is available via Airbnb from £682 per night. Guests can relax in the saltwater infinity pool, bask under the palm trees in the garden, or head for the nearby beach.

Shutters open K-House up to shaded porches and outdoor dining areas, sheltering visitors from the hot sun. Those looking for extra R&R can enjoy on-site yoga and massages, while surfers should head for Hiriketiya Beach, where boards are available for both pros and newbies to rent.
