David Hockney animation

You can venture inside David Hockney’s pastel-hued world in this new stop-motion animation, produced by Tate Britain to mark the Pop Art master’s retrospective.

The British artist, who turns 80 this year, is famous for his vibrant scenes that capture life in the Californian suburbs. Animator Thomas Harnett O’Meara has added ripples to Hockney’s signature swimming pools and turned on the grass sprinklers to water the manicured lawns. The artist himself even makes a cameo, gazing up towards the sky.
