Buy a contemporary fixer-upper in Marrakech for 2.5 million euros

It was designed by a Franco-Algerian protégé of Philippe Starck

The international reach of James Bond extends into Africa at this contemporary villa 20 minutes outside the ochre Medina of Marrakech. Designed by Franco-Algerian architect Imaad Rahmouni, a protégé of Philippe Starck, Dar Bianca featured in the movie Spectre in 2015 and is currently back on the market for 2.5 million euros. Marketed by John Taylor, the home is located in the international Palmeraie area of the city.

Built in concrete, the colour of limestone, to echo the city‘s vernacular, the house incorporates wide banks of glass framed in whip-thin steel. Its 640 square metres include an open living area, a clean, contemporary kitchen and five bedrooms, bathed in natural light. A palm tree cuts through the heart of the house, which realtors say would benefit from some refurbishment.

Inner landscaped courtyards flow outward to a vast, two-hectare property with water features and a pool, which offers 640 sq m of living space, set within a landscaped garden of nearly two hectares, planted with mature trees. There’s a caretaker’s house on the property.
