New York restaurateur Danny Meyer once called this duplex in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village home, and the loft is an entertainer’s dream.

The sprawling pad was created by combining apartments on the eighth and ninth floors of the East 12th Street boutique condo, and it’s the only duplex in the building. According to Mansion Global, the apartment is owned by an LLC tied to Bella Meyer, founder of florist fleurs Bella and granddaughter of artist Marc Chagall. She converted the separate units into one sprawling 4,660 sq ft home, taking over the entirety of the two floors.

An elevator opens directly into the five-bedroom Manhattan property, which has an open-plan living room, dining room, and chef’s kitchen on the top floor. Windows peek onto the First Presbyterian Church (which previously owned one of the units) and the neighbouring brownstones.

The primary suite is also on this level, as is a studio office that could be used as an additional bedroom. There are three more bedrooms on the lower level, a more casual living room with a wet bar, laundry, powder room, and a full bathroom complete with a sauna and soaking tub.

Now, the duplex is listed for the first time ever via Jed Lewin of The Agency, with an asking price of $8.5m.
