A boutique Tulum hotel hits the market – and it comes with its own heliport

Laura Vautherin designed the jungle retreat

An eight-room hotel designed by French architect Laura Vautherin is for sale in Tulum, and it offers jungle views as well as space to expand the building.

Dubbed 16 Tulum, the jungle retreat is already a popular choice with visitors, located close to Aldea Zama and Avenida Kukulkan. Four of its eight suites include their own swimming pools and gardens, and epitomise the indoor-outdoor life with glass roofs, private terraces and alfresco showers.

There are touches of the rustic about the space, with its carved stone sinks, dried palm leaves and flashes of cacti peering in. Communal areas are also screened by tropical greenery and whitewashed walls that reflect the sun.

Following her first round of design, architect Laura Vautherin is available to plan and create the next stages of the boutique hotel – with three additional adjacent plots of land up for sale, and ready to be developed as extra suites,  an on-site spa and/or restaurant.

Would-be hoteliers can contact the owners directly for specs and price.
