This stone villa nestles into the olive groves of the Puglian countryside

More than eight hectares of dense olive groves surround Tenuta Masseriola – a trullo home located just outside of Puglia’s Carovigno.

The villa mixes tradition and modernity, with dry stone walls contrasted by more contemporary additions. It’s the same story inside, where the stonework of the main villa sits alongside tubular steel furniture and marble-topped tables.

Its crisp, whitewashed interiors offer respite from the heat, but sun worshippers can also stretch out by the infinity pool – which is screened by trees.

There’s space for eight people at Tenuta Masseriola, which rents from €3,000 per week and has four ensuite bedrooms. An extra-roomy dining room, set under a vaulted ceiling, also means everyone can fit around the table for dinner.

Torre Guaceto nature reserve is a 10-minute drive away and offers a still relatively untouched coastline of white sand.
