This Shanghai flower shop is a gallery for plants and bouquets

Absolute Flower Shop in Shanghai’s Anfu Lu neighbourhood is a white cube gallery version of the classic florist.

More Design Office created the space, converting what was once a house into a flower shop and back garden. The home retains a small window onto the street, which was previously used for selling everyday goods. MDO have converted this into an installation space for intricate, and seasonal, plants and flower arrangements.

The concept store displays bouquets on stone and stainless steel plinths, echoing the feeling of being inside an art gallery. While browsing, visitors can catch a glimpse of Absolute Flower Shop’s ‘secret’ garden, used by the owner as a space for assembling her floral designs.
