A two-year-old house in the hills above Austin, Texas, has hit the market for an undisclosed price that points to the city’s enduring appeal beyond young professionals. The project was a collaboration between the first owner and A Parallel Architecture, with help on the ground from Arrowhead Construction. The team considered every angle in siting the property, on two acres in West Lake Hills, and used the highest-spec materials to carry out their plan. Bold and sculptural, it uses concrete, glass, natural wood and stone to create dramatic presence, and views across the city from every aspect.

Guests enter on a floating bridge to the front door, where a cascading stone stairway leads to an outdoor living space below. The main living area is anchored by a sculptural fireplace and hovers over an infinity pool with sheet-glass walls that frame the surrounding panorama. A dining room and minimalist chef’s kitchen with a monolithic marble island and butler’s pantry lead off this primary space.
The main bedroom suite has a floating fireplace and sitting area beyond, with his-and-her bathrooms and a dressing area. There are three main bathrooms in all, along with one half bathroom. On the lower level are two guest suites, one with children’s bunks, flanking a two-story media room with its own kitchenette. This level opens onto an outdoor infinity pool and terrace.
The home is currently on the market with Kuper Sotheby’s International Realty.
