The life-changer: this inky Isle of Skye restaurant is for sale

Budding restaurateurs with a fondness for nature can satisfy their cravings on Scotland’s Isle of Skye, where popular dining spot Caroy House is for sale.

The Portree restaurant revives a formerly derelict building from the late 1800s on Somerled Square. Its owner took the building back to its bare bones before enlisting London studio Designandthat to craft its interiors. Its dining room is daubed in inky, maritime hues, with space for 60 covers. Caroy House began trading in early 2018.

Listed via ASG Commercial, Inverness for £380,000, the commercial island property is now seeking a ‘hands-on owner-operator’ with the majority of trading coming from April to October – the peak tourist season – and a steady stream of low-seasons patrons.

The Isle of Skye is the largest of the Inner Hebrides at 50 miles long and is a popular tourist destination thanks to its rugged landscape, postcard fishing villages and medieval castle.
