Fjord views stretch for miles at these timber lodges in southwest Norway

With bird’s eye views over Lysefjord

Guests can enjoy bird’s eye views of Norway’s Lysefjord from this pair of mountain lodges, which have soothing Scandi interiors to match the snowy landscape.

The Boulder chalets measure just 22 square metres but manage to squeeze in a pair of bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, dining room and living space into their tiny, vertical footprint, which is faintly reminiscent of a birder’s hide. Beds and tables are surrounded by windows that mean guests are never far from views of the icy fjord hundreds of metres below.

Danish brand Vipp furnished each cabin, installing leather and steel furniture and black kitchen fittings that compliment the home’s own dark wood panelling.

Pulpit Rock is close to the Norwegian cabins, which are located 51km away from Stavanger Airport, and start from £317 per night.
