Pink-hued De Beauvoir Block is the latest addition to London’s coworking scene

Millennial pink reigns supreme in east London’s newest coworking hub, De Beauvoir Block.

Rose-tinted brickwork and plaster runs throughout the space, which is located in an Edwardian warehouse in Hackney. Poured concrete floors add some contrast, and corners are filled with plantlife.

Sella Concept, which is run by duo Tatjana von Stein and Gayle Noonan, has chosen classic furniture pieces, including cafe cane chairs and velvet sofas – for more relaxed lunchtime meetings.

‘We spend most of our days at work, so it seems crucial to develop a space that calls upon your various moods at different points of the day,’ says says von Stein. ‘Particularly in creative industries, where a shift in your environment can take you to a more inspiring headspace.’

Opulent touches inside the coworking space come in the form of brass-rimmed tables, and more pink-hued highlights incorporated into the furniture, lighting and cafe tableware – including rose-tinted teapots and pink terrazzo pots.

Members are welcomed by a circular, midcentury style reception desk, and can enjoy banquette seating during breaks in the downstairs cafe. Meetings can be held in the downstairs boardroom, which features bespoke furniture designed by Sella Concept.

Artwork for De Beauvoir Block has been created by Emily Forgot, who has designed a series of collages designed to represent the architecture of the building.

Membership starts from £150 per month, and De Beauvoir Block has 33 workspaces on offer, as well as room for more flexible freelancers.
