New York’s Nubeluz cocktail bar floats amid the skyscrapers

This glitzy rooftop bar is steeped in the Manhattan skyline, thanks to its prime spot 500 feet above the city.

Nubeluz by José Andrés is located on the 50th floor of the Ritz-Carlton, NoMad, and its vast expanse of windows ensures every seat is the best spot, particularly as night descends and the lights twinkle on. However, its interiors – created by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio – are arguably just as impressive.

Brudnizki has filled the Rafael Viñoly-designed space with a sumptuous mix of mirrors, glowing onyx and velvet – all chosen to evoke a mythical kind of New York glamour. Rich shades of blue, pink and burgundy add to the effect.

Nubeluz turns the volume up once evening falls, with candlelight bouncing off of mirrored tabletops located right next to the bar’s full-length windows. Guests can also head to one of two outdoor terraces to order oysters and caviar to accompany their drinks, with a cocktail menu created by Miguel Lancha.
