Light-filled warehouse conversion hits the market in Paris for €2.45m

There’s plenty of room to be creative in this Parisian warehouse conversion, which features lofty 17-ft ceilings.

The light-filled home – for sale via Propriétés Parisiennes for €2.45m – is in the 14th arrondissement and was an art studio dating back to 1901, reportedly ‘built with materials derived directly from the Universal Exhibition of 1900’.

Walls, beamed ceilings and industrial columns are all painted white across the converted warehouse, which is set across two levels, giving it a gallery-like feel in keeping with its creative roots.

On the ground floor of the Paris property is the kitchen, living room and a dining area. Two bedrooms occupy the upper level: the master suite overlooks a cobbled lane, while the guest bedroom peeks out over the living room, and is fitted with floor-to-ceiling book shelves.

Paris’ 14th arrondissement – or Montparnasse, as it’s also known – was favoured by the city’s intellectual and artistic elite during the late-19th and early-20th century. Everyone from Gauguin and Man-Ray to Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir spent their days in the bustling district, which today is home to galleries and museums.
