Modernist gem by Jules Wabbes hits the market in Brussels

Designer Jules Wabbes crafted the interiors of this Brussels apartment in 1960 and it’s been preserved as a time capsule of midcentury modernism.

The 300 sqm duplex – on the market via Brussels Sotheby’s International Realty for €990,000 – sits on the third and fourth floors of the heritage listed structure by architect Jacques Cuisinier in the Schaerbeek neighbourhood of the city.

A rosewood panelled hallway leads into the Brussels property’s double height reception room, while brass, steel and marble elements can be found across the kitchen, dining room and upper level.

The tiled mezzanine library is accessed via a geometric wooden staircase and overlooks the living room below. It leads to two bedrooms – the master of which is a vast 50 sqm space.
