Inside actor Seann William Scott’s Venice home

Designed by architect Kevin Mulcahy with interiors by Olivia Korenberg

It’s 25 years since the first American Pie movie hit movie theatres, but Stifler is still an instantly recognisable name, as is Seann Williams Scott, the actor who played him. He’s recently listed his Venice home for $4.975m.

Designed by architect Kevin Mulcahy, 741 Brooks Ave is an intriguing juxtaposition of industrial and organic influences. The five-bedroom home encompasses a single-storey bungalow and a sleek concrete and glass addition by Mulcahy, who unified the two volumes via cool concrete, giving the complex a semi-industrial vibe.

It’s a different story inside where stark black beams crisscross the house’s volumes, contrasting timber ceilings and the soft natural colour palette. In the bungalow, sand-coloured floor tiles run through the living, dining, and kitchen, which have Ceasarstone worktops and Pedini-designed wooden cabinetry. The kitchen on this level has a breakfast area with built-in banquette seating and views of the garden.

According to Robb Report, Scott bought the Los Angeles property in 2017, and his wife, interior designer Olivia Korenberg, has styled and edited the interiors.

Living spaces run to 3,704 sq ft, but the standout is undoubtedly the entertaining space, with double-height ceilings and a vast dining area and living room. Rooms on the uppermost level are reached by a glass-floored catwalk that adds a sense of gravity-defying wonder to the mix.

Sotheby’s International holds the listing for the California property.
