Ibizan finca Casa Buscatell is a masterclass in rustic minimalism

Earthy and organic island hideaway Casa Buscatell takes its cues from Ibiza’s landscape, a series of serene spaces that connect to the sky and sea.

The four-bedroom Ibizan holiday home appears every inch the classic Ibicenco finca from the outside with its white rendered walls and letterbox windows. Inside, tradition turns minimalist thanks to a top-to-toe renovation that’s breathed new life into the 280 sq m house. Sand-coloured plaster walls, exposed timber beams and raftered ceilings add patina, grain, and texture to the space. Rustic elements also find expression around window ledges and midcentury-style furniture in teaks and walnut hues.

New steel-framed windows and roof lights create dramatic ‘moments’ across the free-flowing interiors. Light shafts streak across tiled floors and walls from overhead, amplifying volume and imbuing the finca with visual warmth. Elsewhere, windows frame partial views – blue skies, rugged stone, and lush vegetation, culminating with undulating panoramas on the terrace.

Landscaping of the 12,000 sq m gardens is underway, and the owner/developer is adding a lake-style pool and stepped gardens that ‘fall away’ from the house.

Izabela Swiecicka of Fantastic Frank is listing Casa Buscatell’s price on the application. The town of San Rafael is on the doorstep while Ibiza Town and the airport are 20 minutes drive away.
