The couple sandblasted the walls to reveal their board-formed concrete base and installed two cantilevering containers to maximise its column-free floorplan. They’ve been joined together by steel tubing and lashed to reinforced floor-joints to create a bedroom and home office.

On the market via Sotheby’s International Realty for $5.55m, the three-bedroom San Francisco property has Georgia hickory pecan plank flooring throughout as well as teak additions, including a custom, 11-ft-long bartop installed as part of the outdoor roof terrace.
