A glossy green facade sets the scene at this Lisbon home

Lisbon is known for its beautiful tiled buildings. Still, this apartment building in its Santo António is a particularly striking example, its facade covered in green glass tiles overlooking the city’s Botanical Garden.

The large, five-bedroom Lisbon residence is for sale via Fantastic Frank Lisbon for €1.59m and is steps from Avenida da Liberdade and the Jardim Botânico in a building dating from 1908. It was renovated in 2017 and seamlessly blends old-world charm and modern amenities.

First to note is the crimson kitchen with its creamy marble counters and a large island. The room is separated from the living room by tall wooden doors and benefits from high ceilings (and renovated wooden floors), standard throughout the apartment but particularly impactful in the living room. The space is a sun trap that opens onto a south-facing balcony.

Presently, three rooms are used as bedrooms (including the primary suite with a walk-in closet and large bathroom), while two smaller rooms are set up as an office and study.

The central Lisbon neighbourhood is bordered by Principe Real, Rato and Avenida Liberdade, with its luxury boutique stores, restaurants, a farmer’s market and plenty of parks all within walking distance. The Jardim Botânico, with its subtropical plants and butterfly greenhouse, and metro station are also a stone’s throw away.

Take a look around the Lisbon property.
