This single-storey floating prefab in Prague was designed by Czech based practice Atelier SAD. Dubbed ‘Port X’, the houseboat is made of six ’C’ shaped wooden modules designed as an experiment in modern living. ‘The main idea is that you can connect and expand,’ says its architect Jerry Koza. ‘You can live in three modules, then add another for a studio or a meeting room.’ This incarnation sleeps up to four guests, has a kitchen and bathroom.
Port X is sited on the Holešovice waterfront – a thriving neighbourhood packed with cafes, restaurants and museums – close to the Centre for Contemporary Art (DOX), as well as the old Holešovice Brewery.Prague, Czech Republic
