Belgian designer Guillaume Van Durme has turned this Antwerp loft into a shoppable Airbnb, outfitted with design pieces where everything is for sale – including the loft itself.

The white-washed space is located in the city’s Den Dam neighbourhood and belongs to Studio EVA founders Dirk Hoes and Nadja Roegiers. They renovated the loft and listed it for sale in 2019. After it languished empty on the market for months, they approached Van Durme to activate the space as a temporary pop-up and holiday let for Ego & Utopia while it awaits a buyer.

Van Durme has curated the Antwerp holiday home with classics such as Eero Saarinen’s Tulip Table and a leather version of Michel Ducaroy’s Togo loveseat – pulled from Modern Living’s vintage collection. They sit alongside contemporary pieces by Studio EVA, More Circular lighting and Omar City chairs. Art is by Quiet Company and even the hand soap by Likami is selected for its minimalist packaging.

The result is a quieting, serene space that feels miles away from its bustling city-centre location next to the popular Park Spoor Noord.

The project is available to book until March 2021 from €149 per night. In response to Covid restrictions, Van Durme has launched an online gallery that allows those further afield to shop the space digitally.

For those interested in acquiring the Antwerp property on a more permanent basis, Group Trevi has the listing for €360,500.
